The course will provide participants the opportunity to understand the concepts, tools and processes of systems thinking and be able to apply the learning to healthcare environments. The topics of the course will focus primarily on Healthcare system and the environment in Sudan and developing countries, systems thinking principles, examples of systems maps, rules for building systems maps, causal loops diagrams and the applications of systems thinking to address healthcare issues.
The purpose of this course is to build the participants’ leadership capacity in the domain of “Business Skills and Knowledge” with special emphasis on the “Knowledge of the Healthcare”, and “the ability to apply systems thinking to the healthcare environment”. The Healthcare Leadership Alliance identifies the “Common Competency Domains” for healthcare leaders, Executives and managers as: Communication and Relationship management, Leadership, Professionalism, Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment, and Business Skills and Knowledge .
The course will follow the flipped classroom strategy where we will cease the synchronous online meeting for discussions and application of knowledge.
