Dr. Mahmoud is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. He was formerly worked as a research manager at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Brisbane in Australia. He earned his bachelor's degree in medicine from the University of Gezira in Sudan, two master's degrees in clinical microbiology and public health from Griffith University in Australia, and a PhD in public health from the University of Queensland of Technology in Australia. He currently teaches "Fundamentals of Epidemiology”, “Integrated Epidemiology” and “Occupational Health” for undergraduate students and "Advanced Biostatistics" for postgraduate students. Dr. Mahmoud’s research foci includes epidemiological studies, obesity, cardiometabolic health, and mental health.
