"Dr. Ruaa Ahmed completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2013 from the National Ribat University. She attained a Master of Public and Tropical Health from the University of Medical and Tropical health with a focus on Hospital Management in 2017. In addition. Dr. Ruaa was selected by the US Department of State to be awarded by Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African leaders (MWF), where she was affiliated with Syracuse University in New York at the Public Management Track in 2019. She was also awarded a fully funded Scholarship from the Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) by the Government of the Netherlands to study at KIT Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The award was for MSc International Course in Health Development (Health systems policy and management track) in Sep 2020. Finally, Dr. Ruaa was certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional PMP® with above the target in all domains in December 2022.
Dr. Ruaa has over five years of experience in public health, working for the Sudan Federal Ministry of Health, Gavi the Vaccine Alliance Project Management Unit, and finally, for the World Health Organization. She has good knowledge and experience in Health System Strengthening & Research, Healthcare Quality, Monitoring & Evaluation, Human Resources for Health, and Digital Health.
Currently, she works as M&E Officer at the World Health Organization at the Health Systems Development Unit in Sudan Country Office.
